Resources for the Middle Ages and Renaissance
Medieval Studies
- The York Corpus Christi Play Unfortunately this site, which at one time boasted an excellent animated simulation
of the Corpus Christi play cycle, developed by Professor Dennis Jerz at the University of Toronto, has fallen into decay. The animations no longer work and navigation within the site
is a shambles. Still, there is quite a bit of interesting information to be had here and the site is worth an examination.
- Internet Medieval Source Book, Fordham University
- Medieval History in the Movies, Fordham University
- Labyrinth Georgetown University, links to a remarkable number of Medieval resources. Recently reorganized.
- Center for Research in Early English Drama/Records of Early English Drama (REED), Professor Alexandra F. Johnson, Director.
A compendium of WWW resources for Theatre, Music and Dance, compiled and maintained by faculty and staff at Victoria College, University of Toronto, this site includes links
to MS Repositories, Journals and E-Journals; Research Palaeography; Early Music and Dance; Play Texts; Shakespeare; and Medieval and Early Modern Theatre.
This site is an excellent scholarly resource.
- 16th Century Theatre Database
- 16th Century Music, a chapter in "Dolmetsch online" an excellent resource for Music History On-Line.
- Medieval Collectibles annotated article on Medieval Warfare. Main site has commercial links to costumes, weapons and armor. Excellent costuming resource.
- The Middle Ages A site made up of numerous short articles and many excellent links.
- Although there is no link to this material, an excellent bibliography of Medieval sources may be found at the end of Michael Crichton's Timeline
(Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1999. pp. 447-450.) I highly recommend this as a resource for scholarship of the Late Middle Ages.
- Middle Ages and Renaissance Facts for Kids. [Sponsored by
Medieval Collectibles, a commercial site.]
