Longitudinal section of the temporary stage, Whitehall
A sectional drawing represents a "cut" or "slice" through an object. Using the paradigm of a house, a transverse section would reflect a slice through the building from
left to right, relative to the front of the house.
A longitudinal section would reflect a slice from the front door to the back. Sections are usually, but not always, taken on a center line. |
