When he is not working with makeup, or in the theatre as stage manager and some-time scenic artist, Dan is on call at VideOccasions™ as a videographer and editor. He enjoys camera work, and is very good at it.
Dan has an Associates degree in Video Production from Seattle Central Community College. He is a "man of the theatre," having worked professionally as an actor since he was in his early teens. |
A graduate of Toronto's former Complections International, currently CMU College of Makeup Arts and Design, he is a specialist in theatrical, film and prosthetic makeup. His training includes wig making and he has worked with wigs and makeup at Canade's prestigious Banff Center for the Arts and at both the Seattle Repertory Theatre and the Seattle Opera.
Dan has supervised makeup on several films, most recently a film directed by Canada's Guy Madden -- "Brand Upon the Brain," which opened the 2006 Toronto Film Festival and played in Seattle among other U.S. cities. He has done makeup for numerous theatrical productions and has produced a short video piece in which the principal actor aged 70 years during the half hour performance through the use of Dan's prosthetics.
Dan has given annual film makeup demonstrations at The Seattle Science Center, in workshops at the University of Washington School of Drama and in privately arranged tutorials.
